How to check your Telangana challan

Go to https://echallan.tspolice.gov.in/. It is only a redirect page — the working portal is https://echallan.tspolice.gov.in/publicview/, titled 'Telangana Police Integrated e-Challan System'.
Stay on the first tab, 'Vehicle Number'. It holds three independent searches stacked on one page: Vehicle No, Licence No, and Challan NO/Mobile No.
Type the number into the relevant box, solve the small arithmetic captcha in the 'Enter Answer' field and click GO. Pending challans load with the challan number, date, section and amount.
Use the 'Seizure (e-39b)' tab if a document or the vehicle was seized, and the 'Payment Receipt' tab (search by Transaction reference No, or by Licence No with date of birth, or by mobile number) to pull an old receipt again.
Check the 'DL Penalty Points' tab to see penalty points recorded against a driving licence — Telangana runs this alongside the money fine.
As a cross-check, run the same vehicle or DL number on the MoRTH portal at https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-challan; Telangana is not among the states routed to the NextGen portal, so it is still served from echallan.parivahan.gov.in.

How to pay a Telangana challan online

On https://echallan.tspolice.gov.in/publicview/ tick the challans you want to clear in the result list.
Click the Netbanking option. The portal's own note tells you to look for your bank in the list of banks under each gateway and pick the gateway that carries your bank before proceeding.
Note the Reference number the portal generates before you are handed to the gateway — you need it if the payment goes wrong.
Pay by internet banking, credit card, debit card, UPI ID or QR code; all gateways on the portal accept these.
If money is debited but the challan is still showing, use the 'Transaction status' button beside 'Make Payment'. The portal says to wait one day, and that if the challan is still uncleared the amount is refunded within 7 working days.
Spot challans carry a ₹5 user charge added at the payment page — the total shown will be slightly higher than the challan amount.

'Register For Violation Alerts' on the Telangana portal — submit owner name, vehicle number, mobile number and captcha, and an SMS is sent to that mobile whenever a challan is booked on the vehicle.
Genuine Telangana e-challan SMS comes only from the sender header 'ECHALN-*'. The portal carries an explicit warning, in English and Telugu, to trust nothing else and to use only echallan.tspolice.gov.in.

Court challans in Telangana

Telangana settles compoundable offences entirely on its own portal — you select the challan and pay, and there is no court step. What Telangana does not have is a Virtual Court. The national Virtual Courts platform at https://vcourts.gov.in/virtualcourt/ lists 31 traffic and transport departments across other states and union territories, from Assam to West Bengal, and Telangana appears nowhere in that list, so a Telangana challan cannot be paid or contested online through vcourts.gov.in the way a Delhi one can. That matters most for the offences Section 200 of the Motor Vehicles Act does not allow to be compounded at all: drunken driving under Section 185, and every limb of dangerous driving under Section 184 except clause (c) of the Explanation (use of handheld communication devices). Those are prosecuted before the jurisdictional magistrate's court and the person named has to appear; the e-challan portal will not show a payable amount for them. If you believe a challan was wrongly booked, the portal has a Complaints tab and a User Feedback form with fixed reasons — Manual Error, Double Challan, Fake Vehicle, Theft Vehicle — verified by OTP, and Hyderabad Traffic Police separately directs wrong-challan clarifications to the Traffic Cell at Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, or online through the same public view portal.

Telangana is not on the national Virtual Courts platform. The vcourts.gov.in department dropdown carries 31 departments across other states and has no Telangana entry at all.
Telangana is also not on the NextGen e-challan portal. The MoRTH site routes 27 states and UTs to echallan.parivahan.nic.in and Telangana is not one of them, so Telangana challans stay on echallan.parivahan.gov.in.
The captcha on the Telangana portal is an arithmetic question, not a distorted image — the field is literally labelled 'Enter Answer' and takes a two-digit number.
The portal's Contact Us panel lists four commissionerates — Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City — while the refund text on the same page still names a Rachakonda helpdesk address ([email protected]). If you are unsure which office holds your challan, start from the one named on the challan itself.
Hyderabad Traffic Police's own 'Road Rules' page at https://htp.gov.in/road_rules.html still lists pre-2019 penalties (₹500 for driving without a licence under Section 181, ₹1,000 for no insurance under Section 196, ₹2,000 for no registration under Section 192(1), ₹200 for Section 177 offences). Those figures were superseded by the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019 with effect from 1 September 2019 — go by the amount printed on the challan, not that page.
